SIGHT GLASS

Sight Glasses are used to see, through a pair of glasses, the liquid or gas inside a pipeline. In addition to verifying the passage of the fluid, it’s possible to observe its color, the presence of bubbles or foam, and other characteristics.

The fluid’s visibility can be improved with several additions:

• A fixed paddle that generates turbulence in the flow
• A moving paddle that can also measure the flow rate
• A small chain that oscillates as the fluid passes
• Plastic spheres that are moved by the fluid
• A rotor propelled by the fluid
• A dripper that condenses vapors

They can be made in any size, with in-line, angled, or even with more than two connections, and they can also have an additional connection to accommodate a thermowell.
